Terms of Use

By creating a Bible Quest account or using the Bible Quest application or website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use Bible Quest.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Bible Quest. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Bible Quest with the involvement of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. Do not share your account or impersonate another person.

Bible Quest uses your device location to show nearby discoveries, provide walking navigation and confirm arrival. Location features require your permission and can be turned off in your device settings, which will limit parts of the experience.

Bible Quest asks you to move through the real world. You do so voluntarily and at your own risk, and you remain fully responsible for your choices while exploring.

Bible Quest never instructs you to trespass or to access unsafe locations. GPS, map data, routing and arrival detection can be inaccurate, delayed or incomplete; treat navigation as guidance, never as an instruction.

• Remain aware of your surroundings at all times; do not walk while staring at your screen.
• Follow pedestrian rules, traffic signals and local laws.
• Respect private property. Never trespass to reach a discovery.
• Use safe, publicly accessible routes only.
• Never enter dangerous, restricted, closed or unsafe areas to reach a discovery.
• Respect places of worship, memorials, heritage sites, opening hours and the people around you.
• Use your own judgement when following navigation, and stop if a route feels unsafe.

Discoveries are built from public sources such as OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia and editorial research. We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information, but content may contain errors, be incomplete or become out of date.

Community Discovery Candidates are places surfaced automatically from public map data. They are not officially verified Bible Quest editorial content until they have been curated and approved, and they are labelled accordingly in the app.

Scripture passages, historical context and cultural notes are provided for exploration and reflection. They are not academic, theological, legal or professional advice, and translations remain the property of their respective publishers.

Community features let you share progress, follow other explorers, react and comment. Use them respectfully. We may hide, remove or restrict content and accounts that break these terms.

You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant Bible Quest a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, display and distribute that content inside the Bible Quest experience, for as long as you keep it published. You confirm you have the rights to everything you post, including photos.

• Falsifying, spoofing or automating location to claim rewards.
• Harassment, hate speech, sexual content, threats or impersonation.
• Posting false historical claims, spam or content that infringes copyright.
• Attempting to bypass security, access other explorers' data or disrupt the service.
• Using Bible Quest for any unlawful purpose.

The Bible Quest name, emblem, design system, editorial writing, artwork and software are owned by Bible Quest or its licensors. Map data, place data and encyclopaedic content remain the property of their sources and are used under their respective licences, including ODbL for OpenStreetMap.

XP, explorer levels, achievements, artifacts, Heritage Cards and similar Bible Quest rewards are virtual in-app progression items. They have no monetary value unless Bible Quest explicitly states otherwise, cannot be exchanged for cash and may not be sold, traded or transferred.

We may adjust reward values, availability or balancing, and may revoke rewards obtained through cheating or error.

Bible Quest relies on third-party services including Mapbox, OpenStreetMap, Wikimedia and Supabase. Their availability and accuracy are outside our control, and their own terms apply to their content and services.

Bible Quest is provided on an ongoing but not guaranteed basis. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, discoveries or content at any time, and downtime or maintenance can occur.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, abuses the reward system, endangers others or is required to be removed by law.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent, removes your progress, collections and Community content, and cannot be undone. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is deleted and what is retained in anonymised form.

Bible Quest is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that discovery information, location detection, routing or arrival confirmation will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bible Quest is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for injury, loss or damage arising from your real-world movement, your reliance on navigation or location information, or your interaction with other explorers or third-party places.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Bible Quest's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without limiting mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.

We may update these terms as Bible Quest evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
